A Hack, Alack!

Turns out that several other folks have been trying to hack this site, in really weird ways, including Denial of Service attacks and Brute Force password hacking.

I keep the WordPress software and my security plugins updated, and change passwords frequently. But it keeps happening.

My hosting supplier GoDaddy has been less than helpful in sorting these things out – one much smaller site went down completely from a similar hacking attack and I lost several content pages. The technical response so far has been something like, “Oh, that’s too bad. . . . “

To avoid a repeat, I have saved an HTML-ONLY backup version of this page so the content of this site isn’t lost forever if they succeed.

In the meantime, there is no danger to folks who read this page, or even to folks who contribute.

So enjoy!
